Wearable Art Unisex T-Shirt (Diamonds) | Digital Reproduction of Unique Textile Design

The image on this T-shirt is reproduced from a Laotian textile. The design appears to emerge from the weaving, but it is actually a block print that mimics a warp based weaving. In fact, the design has been stamped by hand onto the fabric using hand carved wood blocks. It is a surface impression with no hint at all of the design on the reverse side. Although the design is not woven, it required skill and patience both to carve the blocks and to carefully stamp the designs onto the fabric. It’s very cleverly done, and only a practiced eye would discern that the design is not a result of the weaving process.

This is a relaxed fit, garment-dyed T-shirt that feels lived-in from the first wear.
